#Turnigy plush 80a esc manual series#
The silver series escs from Electrifly.I didn't like them. This list can go on and on about who takes a hobbywing esc and puts a different name on it.

Just as the same esc line is called "Plush" from TurnigyĪlso known as the "Higrade" from ThunderPowerĪnd called "Flight Tech" from Flight Power The Pentium is a brand name for the Hobbywing esc * Mystery ESC's - 3D guys sware by these, but where they heck do we find them. * Where can I find a ZTW / ZTWOEM ESC fast for my son before the nall, preferrably a mailorder house here on the east coast or close to it? I see a mountain time vendor called MileHigh, let me see if I can find a East or florida house? know of any? although i see no USA parts house to order it from? or is there someone here in USA we can order these from?

* hmmm, wow, never heard of Hobbywing, here i thought you meant HobbyKing, but I just pulled up the web site, neat. * When you say pentium, are you actually talking about an IBM Pentium CPU, lol ? of so, wow, cool. * Tell me, how did the Silver Series 40amp work out? was it fine, or issues? Hey thanks Cryhavoc38 !!! very good feedback ZTW makes a great line of esc's under the ZTWOEM name and if you inspect them, you will notice that some very name brand units are based on these. I've sold off or given away alot of name brand esc's such as the Silver series from Electrifly, Eflite esc's, etc I would never touch another eflite speedo, nor the overpriced older phoenix line. When you start talking about the need for 80 amps to 200amps, the price of the plane climbs so why not use a great esc like the ICE for high dollar planes. Thunderpower and Flight Power rebranded Hobbywing esc's and of course marked them up accordingly.Īnything 75+ amps and higher, the best bang for the buck will be the Castle Ice units. (pentium) and the exceed momentum (HW Platinum) These are relabled everywhere and you are familiar with them as the turnigy plush (hw pentium), Turnigy K-Force (HW Platinum)Īlso available from in california as the Exceed volcano and proton. Here's my take on great, low cost esc's and I've done alot of usage/testing etc.įor anything under 80 amps, go with the Hobbywing Pentium and Platinum series esc's. Some only need: $12 ESC, $15 motor, $8 servo, $12 battery and a cheap plane to enjoy the hobby! BUT, they need to know, which JUNK will bring a plane down due to glitches and failing? > So the money for each component adds up, so it is easy for some to say, only buy the best $100 ESC, then best $100 motor, the best $50 x 4 servo's and so on. Thanks to all in advance to good solid feedback to help the young ones and those on a low budget, because, NOT everyone can afford a small to medium sized $400 electric plane, some only have a budget of $100 to $150 or so. some motors on these would jerk, crap out, simply shutoff, or freek out and cause even the Rx to go insane and loose the plane, bad stuff.īUT now 4 years later, did they fix these horrible no good ESC's ? I know for a fact, 4 years ago, I tried a 2 40amp ESC's on two planes, and those crappy ESC's brought each plane down a few times, then I went to the triple prices 20amp E-flite's and NEVER touched another Suppo ESC since. So, from all your experiences and/or reviews, is there a reliable line of economy ESC's that range $10 to $20 and upto $40 that will NOT GLITCH and loose your plane?

* Extreme Flight R/C Airboss 45A Elite ESC $100 * SuppoModel 40amp $21 (did they fix these yet?) * Turnigy Plush $23 -> Some folks in our club seem to have perfect success with the Plush. * 40A Silver Series online for $12 or local store $19 Then how about the Mystery series also (looks like that is from HobbyKing also?)įor example, the same ESC, say a 20amp or 40amp, range in price from $12 to $120 bucks. The low budget folks see the Hobby King Silver Series 40A & 50A at a great price $19 & $22 at local hobby shop (of coarse dirt cheap if you order online and wait).ģ. So the questions are on ESC's Primarily (then Motors second)ġ. So, what economical ESC brands and models are rock solid, or is this a paradox So several men are new to hobby and several 13 to 17 year olds also new to the hobby and are itching to get flying, but buget is BIG problem. I have several NEW flyers that are just getting into the hobby and several Teens, BUT of coarse, it blows their minds on prices. Some local folks here NEED some ESC Brand and pricing help!!!
